First and foremost, Daniel Cook deserves a massive thank you.
Cat Goes Fishing spawned via rapid iteration from a prototyping challenge Daniel posted on Lost Garden back in 2008, which you can see here: "Fishing Girl" Design by Daniel Cook. But that's not the half of it.
His essays and blog posts are a constant source of inspiration, and Lost Garden has become a cultural touchstone for a new generation of aspiring designer/developers.
Thanks, Daniel. You should post more.
I've got to thank the talented LuAnne Boudier for giving Cat Goes Fishing much of its charming aesthetic with her beautiful Art. Divining personalities for the fanciful fish you drew was never boring.
Thanks, Lu. It was a pleasure working with you.
Finally, a heartfelt thanks is due to all the Players whose invaluable feedback helped craft this into an awesome game. And a special thanks to the players who took the time to showcase their first impressions on YouTube and Twitch, many of whom are memorialized in the game in one small way or another. You folks are fantastic.
